Operon Workshop

AI for Genomics & Data Science with Operon

Thursday 06/25/2026

10:00 AM to 5:00 PM - FREE - Open to grad students, postdocs, PIs, and research staff in genomics, single-cell, spatial biology, or adjacent fields.

Natural Sciences II, Room 4201 - Lunch will be provided

A one-day, hands-on workshop where you’ll go from zero to running real bulk RNA-seq, single-cell, and spatial transcriptomics analyses — with Claude driving Operon on your laptop and on the HPC. No prior AI-agent experience assumed.

What you’ll leave with – Three real analyses run end-to-end with Claude driving Operon: a bulk RNA-seq workflow on your laptop, a single-cell pipeline over SSH on UCI HPC3, and a spatial transcriptomics walkthrough. Plus a clear sense of when to use Operon’s Agent, Plan, Ask, and Report modes.

Bring a laptop. macOS is strongly preferred; Windows is supported but with a slower install path.
