The Illumina MiSeq system has a wide variety of focused applications: targeted gene sequencing, small genome sequencing, 16S Metagenomics sequencing, amplicon sequencing, etc. The unique chemistry of the MiSeq allows for sequencing up to 2×300 bp read lengths.
